The HSBC World Rugby Women's Series features twelves of the world's best national teams competing at six global destinations for World Series points. At each stop, teams compete in a tournament to gain points, awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to tournament champions. Points from each tournament are culminated, with a champion being crowned at the end of the season based on total Series points across all six tournaments.

There are 11 'core' teams participating at each round of the Series including: New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Russia, England, Spain, USA, Fiji, France, Brazil and Ireland. A twelfth team is invitational and will be announced closer to the match in May.

Making its debut at the Olympic games in Rio 2016, our Canadian women took home the Bronze medal, following Silver medal winners New Zealand, and Gold medal winners Australia.
